Albersdorf is a municipality in the district of Völkermarkt in the Austrian state of Carinthia. The town is located in the Gailtal valley, about 10 kilometers east of the town of Villach. The municipality includes the villages of Albersdorf, Dellach, and Hermagor.
The area around Albersdorf was first settled in the Bronze Age. The name of the town is first mentioned in a document from 1150. In 1227, the town was destroyed by the forces of the Duke of Bavaria. It was rebuilt in 1237. In the 14th century, the town was ruled by the counts of Ortenburg. In 1418, the town came under the control of the Habsburgs. In 1518, the town was burned by the Turks.
