Alserio is a municipality in the Province of Como in the Italian region of Lombardy. It is located about 40 kilometers north of Milan and about 9 kilometers east of Como. As of 31 December 2004, Alserio had a population of 1,743 and an area of 4.4 square kilometers.
The municipality of Alserio contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) of Alserio Borghetto, Cenaia, and Porto.
Alserio borders the following municipalities: Brienno, Blevio, Cernobbio, Moltrasio, Ossuccio, Tremezzina.
The town is served by Alserio-Borghetto railway station.
