Unieux is a commune in the Loire department in central France. It is located in the metropolitan area of Saint-Étienne.
The commune of Unieux is located in the foothills of the Massif Central, on the right bank of the Furens stream. The name “Unieux” is derived from the Latin word “unicus”, meaning “unique”.
