Kaskinen is a town and municipality of Finland. It is located in the province of Western Finland and is part of the Satakunta region. The town has a population of 3,831 (31 January 2019) and covers an area of 169.73 square kilometres (65.54 sq mi) of which 5.91 km2 (2.29 sq mi) is water. The population density is 22.65 inhabitants per square kilometre (58.5/sq mi).
Kaskinen is known as the “Venice of Finland” because of its numerous canals. The canals were built in the 18th century to link the town’s four rivers. Today, the canals are used for leisure boats and pleasure cruises.
