Kaskinen is a municipality of Finland and an old trading town located in the province of Western Finland and the region of Satakunta. Kaskinen is located on an island in the Kaskinen archipelago, at the mouth of the Kaskistenjoki river, and it is part of the Southwest Finland archipelago. The municipality has a population of 3,749 (31 January 2019) and covers an area of 246.35 square kilometres (95.21 sq mi) of which 1,146.61 km2 (444.21 sq mi) is water. The population density is 15.3 inhabitants per square kilometre (39.7/sq mi).
The municipality is bilingual, with the majority being Swedish-speaking (84.2%) and the minority Finnish-speaking (15.8%).
Kaskinen was an important trading town in the 16th and 17th centuries, and it was one of the biggest towns in Finland at that time.
