Pont-Sainte-Marie is a commune in the Aube department in north-central France. It is located on the right bank of the river Seine, about 100 kilometres (62 mi) southeast of Paris. The commune includes the hamlets of Saint-Mards-les-Rouges and Saint-Mards-en-Othe, which are located on the left bank of the river.
The name Pont-Sainte-Marie comes from the fact that there was a bridge across the Seine at this location as early as the 9th century. The current bridge was built in 1856.
The commune is best known for its annual fair, which was first held in 1290 and is now the largest fair in the Champagne-Ardenne region. It is held on the first weekend of September and attracts up to 400,000 visitors each year.
