Akhtyrskiy is a town in Krasnodar Krai, Russia, located on the right bank of the Kuban River, 97 kilometers (60 mi) northeast of Krasnodar, the administrative center of the krai. As of the 2010 Census, its population was 14,124.[3]

The town was founded in 1794 as a Cossack settlement. It was named after the Akhtyrka River, a tributary of the Kuban.

During World War II, Akhtyrskiy was occupied by Nazi German forces from October 1941 to January 1943.
