Saussan is located some 10 km north-west of Béziers and 15 km east of Villeneuve-lès-Béziers. Access to the commune is by the D6113 road from Poussan in the north-west which passes south through the commune and the village and continues to Saint-Geniès-des-Mourgues in the south-east. The D35 road also comes from Poussan in the north-west and passes through the north-western tip of the commune before continuing south to join the D6113 south of the commune. The D610 comes from Saint-Thibault in the north and passes through the village before continuing south-west to join the D35 just south of the commune. The D14 goes from the D610 in the south of the commune and passes through the village before continuing east to Saint-Nazaire-d’Aude. The D612 branches from the D14 in the south of the commune
