Trévoux is a commune in the Ain department in eastern France. It is located on the left bank of the river Rhône, about 30 kilometres (19 miles) north of Lyon. The inhabitants of the commune are known as Trévouxiens or Trévouxiennes.
The town was an important centre for the printing industry from the 17th to the 19th centuries. Trévoux was also a garrison town, and the site of a prison.
The town has a number of interesting buildings including the Hôtel de Ville (Town Hall), the Church of St. Pierre, and the Tour de l’Horloge (Clock Tower). There is also a Museum of Printing which tells the story of the town’s printing industry.
